Reset at Glenayr Farm: Mudgee’s Hidden Country Retreat

Glenayr Farm is an idyllic country retreat nestled on a 320-acre working sheep and cattle farm in one of NSW’s most celebrated wine regions – Mudgee. This off-grid retreat promises seclusion and privacy in abundance, where long horizons, open skies and the soft soundtrack of farm life replace notifications and noise.

If you haven’t yet been lucky enough to pay Mudgee a visit (just 3.5 hours drive from Sydney), be sure to add it to your travel list next time you’re in and around the Central West. Known for its stunning scenery, heritage buildings and epicurean delights, it’s far more than a pit-stop – it’s a destination worth visiting in and of itself – a country NSW gem where cellar doors dot winding country roads and where vacations are made for lingering and indulging. In fact, Mudgee is the first town to be inducted into the Australian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame for winning the top Tourism Town of the Year 2 years in a row.

Glenayr Farm’s Accomodation: From Mountain Villas to Glamping Dreams
A beautifully designed bedroom featuring a large bed with white linens, a stylish lamp, and a view of the countryside through large sliding glass doors.

Visitors to Glenayr Farm can choose to stay in either a breath-taking villa or a luxury glamping tent. The architecturally-designed villas are positioned on their own mountain and are completely secluded – all set at least 500 metres from their nearest neighbour. Each boasts its own private plunge pool for the summer, which conveniently converts into a wood-fired hot tub in the winter, an oversized deck with an outdoor barbeque and a luxury interior with panoramic farm views.

If you’re more of a ‘sleep-under-the-stars’ type of traveller, but also like your creature comforts then we recommend opting for one of the four glamping bell tents – named lovingly after four iconic wine varietals – Pinot, Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Champagne – perfect companions for a night beneath the stars. It feels less camping, more… a cosy rendezvous with the outdoors.

Wild Wellness – Disconnect to Reconnect

Glenayr Farm is far more than just a beautiful place to stay. The fully-sustainable nature-based boutique accommodation also boasts a wellness centre where guests can move between the sauna, hydrotherapy spa and ice-bath sessions to boost circulation and mental clarity, while enclosed by the open countryside.

Glenayr Farm hosts seasonal Wild Wellness Retreats, inviting guests to reset their nervous system through yoga, breath-work, sound healing, and wholesome, lovingly prepared meals from the on-site chef. These curated three-night farm-stay experiences offer a chance to step deliberately away from the chaos of everyday life, breathe in the fresh country air, and nurture both body and mind – leaving guests restored, grounded, and ready for whatever comes next.

Glenayr Farm is one of those rare places that makes you want to slow down and stay a little longer. Whether you’re in a mountain-top villa or under the stars in a glamping tent, every corner is designed for rest, reflection, and a little indulgence. Move through yoga, cold plunges, and saunas, wander the farm, or simply do nothing at all — the choice is yours. Surrounded by Mudgee’s rolling hills, cellar doors, and endless horizons, Glenayr Farm isn’t just somewhere to stay; it’s a place to pause, breathe, and leave feeling quietly renewed.
