Tamborine Mountain is a picturesque natural playground featuring a quaint hobbit-esque village, palatial vineyards and stunning rainforest hikes with cascading falls – not to mention, the perfect place to find a delicious cup of coffee

The breathtaking hinterland, just an hour from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, feels like a world away from the distractions of the city. The drive there is just as scenic as the setting itself; you’ll snake your way up a steep escarpment shrouded by ferns, with towering trees overhead and glimpses of rolling valleys unfolding below. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with crisp mountain air and landscapes that invite you to slow down, wander, and soak it all in.

If you’re planning to hike and do justice to all the local boutiques and vineyards during your visit, you’ll need some energy! For that, we recommend starting your day with a good hit of caffeine thanks to the perfect cup of coffee; along with a nutritious breakfast or brunch at Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation.

The Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation

Walking into the Coffee Plantation feels like being welcomed into a friend’s dreamy forest hideaway, where comfort and charm meet over the perfect cup. Coffee snobs need not worry because the Coffee Plantation will undoubtedly deliver the perfect brew, no matter what type of roast, ritual, or refinement your palate prefers.

Diners can choose to sit indoors or outdoors as the Cafe is surrounded with a delightfully manicured garden and a covered verandah. The sweet melodies of the local Lorikeets and Finches make for the perfect background noise for a relaxed morning sip.

The Menu

The Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation also serves up a unique and inspired brunch menu on weekends – classic Aussie cuisine with a Japanese twist. With staples like the Egg & Brekky Roll or Apple Bircher, to the more unusual combinations like Karaage Benny and Okonomiyaki – the kitchen endeavours to cater to every palate. And with generous serving sizes, you will absolutely leave feeling satiated!

If you’re after a more leisurely brunch, you can add a cheeky $5 Mimosa to your order on weekends during happy hour (11am-12pm) and then take yourself on a one-hour coffee-to-cup plantation tour for just $10.

Plantation Coffee Tours

The Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation is home to more than 650 happy little coffee trees, all grown using organic and biodynamic methods. With all coffee roasted and blended on site, tour-takers are given a sneak peak into every single part of the coffee production process. If you do want to take a Plantation tour, you’ll need to book in advance, so make sure to visit the website to lock in your spot.

There’s a cute little store connected to the Cafe if you want to grab a bag of your favourite beans to roast from home. There’s also a selection of teas and a delicious authentic Chai; and if you just can’t get enough of the Coffee Plantation, grab a t-shirt, cap or cosy sweater as a momento so you can take a little piece of the Coffee Plantation home with you and savour the magic long after your visit.

The Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation is located at 64 Alpine Terrace, Tamborine Mountain – a stone’s throw from St Bernards Hotel and Wynmère Estate and just a six minute drive from the centre of town.
